This TF moment is brought to you by Yeerk-on-a-stick.

Ever since the discovery of the O-gate, John had been looking forward to visiting another universe. At first, he had been ready to charge right through. That was before Doctor Maveth had gone to world NWC 1607 and been suddenly transformed into a siberian husky. He had learned that some universes were void of certain things and could not contain them. Such universes always transformed those things into something else which was normal for that universe. Terrified of losing his lovely human body, John had done nothing for months. Others were just the opposite. Things would be allowed to revert to their true nature, no matter how strange. John was going to such a universe. He'd be safe.
Taking his guide to the universes under his arm, John stepped through the portal. He found himself in a city full of humans. He also found himself one foot high, his book suddenly too heavy to carry. A glance in a puddle told him the truth. He had become a mythical creature called a opossum, known for reacting to danger by playing dead.
A hard look at the book explained why. John's own universe was one of those that changed things into what it liked. While there, John was a human. Here, his body was free to emulate his true nature. He had thus become a creature which responded to fear with total inaction.

"He had thus become a creature which responded to fear with total inaction."
...And then he went on the Ottercomics forums and displayed this incredible power by not continuing the story.
I share in this amazing power myself!

What part of "moment" do you not understand?

Ignore the popguns in the peanut gallery. It was a lovely short-short, and thus exactly what it claimed to be. :)
